We check the latest access status before confirming this leg and handle all permit paperwork in advance however you will need to share ID/passport copies ahead of the trip. Frequently Asked Questions
Is Teetwal always included in this package?
Teetwal is included by default, but access depends on current security and permit clearance. If access isn’t available on your travel dates, we substitute this day with extra time in Keran or the Karnah/Tangdhar belt at no change to the overall itinerary length.
What permits are needed for this trip and who arranges them?
Gurez, Keran and Karnah/Teetwal all require permits from local authorities. We handle the full permit process but you just need to share ID/passport copies in advance.
What’s the best time to do this itinerary?
May to September, when all the valleys are accessible and roads are clear. Some sections may close or become difficult from late October due to snowfall.
Is this itinerary different from your 12-day offbeat package?
Yes, This 9-day itinerary focuses only on the North Kashmir border tourism including Gurez, Lolab, Keran, Teetwal and Bangus. Our 12-day Grand Offbeat Circuit combines these with South Kashmir destinations like Daksum, Sinthan Top, and Yusmarg for a longer, wider ranging trip.
What type of accommodation should I expect?
Guesthouses and homestays in Gurez, Lolab, Keran and Teetwal because this is genuinely remote travel, so expect basic but comfortable stays rather than hotels. Srinagar nights are in a hotel or houseboat.
Can this itinerary be customized?
Yes, we can shorten it, add more nights in any one valley or combine it with Tulail Valley near Gurez.
