Detailed Itinerary: Leh Ladakh 6 Nights / 7 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Leh

Upon your arrival in Leh, our representative will receive you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and acclimatize to the high-altitude environment. In the evening, you may choose to explore the local market and can buy local items such as silver jewellery, Tibetan handicrafts and Pashmina shawls or rest at the hotel.

Day 2: Leh to Sham valley Day tour

Today, you will go for a day tour to Sham Valley, which is located around 70 kilometers from Leh. On the way, you can also enjoy sightseeing around Leh.

Your first stop will be Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, constructed in memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Many devotees come here to seek blessings. The next sightseeing spot is Magnetic Hill, a place very popular among tourists. Here, when vehicles are put in neutral, they appear to move uphill due to an optical illusion.

You can also spend some time at Nimmu Valley, where the Zanskar and Indus rivers meet. After that, you will visit Alchi Gompa, a famous and ancient Buddhist monastery.

Lastly, you will visit the Ladakh Hall of Fame — a museum built in memory of Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for India.

Day 3: Leh to Nubra valley

Start your day early with breakfast, as you will be heading out on an adventurous road trip from Leh to Nubra Valley via the world’s second-highest motorable road ,Khardung La Pass. Make sure your bags are packed and you are ready to depart on time.

Khardung La is famous for its extreme altitude and thrilling terrain. Many travelers stop at the top to enjoy the views, take photographs, and feel the chill even during the summer months of July and August. You might even spot some snow along the way.

Once you have crossed the pass and arrived in Nubra Valley, check in to your hotel and complete the formalities. After a short rest, begin exploring the valley. Ladakh is full of surprises its ever-changing landscapes won’t let you stay idle for long.

Your first stop will be the Diskit Monastery (Diskit Gompa), followed by a visit to the famous Hunder Sand Dunes, where you can enjoy a ride on a Bactrian camel or try thrilling ATV rides in sand dunes. Home to the Balti community, the village reflects a heritage and way of life that sets it apart. Once part of Pakistan until the 1971 war, Turtuk now lies just 7 kilometers from Pakistan administered Kashmir, offering visitors a rare glimpse into a region shaped by shifting borders and complex history.

Despite being a Muslim majority village, you will still find traces of Ladakhi culture here, including old gompas and an ancient royal house. One of the most fascinating sites is the old government school a quiet reminder of Turtuk’s past under Pakistani rule. Before 1971, the school operated under Pakistan’s education system. After the Indian Army reclaimed the region, it was integrated into the Indian system. Today, you can still see remnants from that time, such as blackboards from the Pakistani era. The school stands as a powerful symbol of Turtuk’s unique identity a village shaped by two nations, two systems, and one resilient spirit.
