Great news for travelers! Kashmir's world-famous cable car service has officially resumed operations from today.
A gearbox failure on May 25 left over 300 tourists mid-air in hanging cabins. Police and teams launched a massive rescue everyone was evacuated safely.
The gearbox was replaced and French engineers from Poma carried out a final inspection. Trial runs were successful before commercial operations were cleared.
Gondola operates 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM daily. On-spot cabin tickets are available from 8:00–9:00 AM at the waiting hall. Book online at to skip queues.
Phase 1 takes you to Kungdoor Station at 8,694 feet. Phase 2 climbs up to Apharwat Peak at a breathtaking 14,403 feet. Lower oxygen levels mean you should move slowly up top!
Book tickets online in advance. Cancellation allowed 2 days prior with 50% charge. Carry warm layers and avoid peak morning rush after 10 AM.
