Amarnath Yatra Routes Declared No-Fly Zones

Why This Sudden Ban?

Both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes have been declared “No-Fly Zones” from July 1 to August 10, 2025, following recommendations from the Union Home Ministry.

What Does It Mean?

Pilgrims must now trek or use traditional ponies/palkis. Only medical evacuations, disaster response, and security surveillance can fly .

When Is the Yatra Happening?

The annual Amarnath Yatra is scheduled from July 3 to August 9, 2025. Devotees must now prepare for a traditional pilgrimage

What About Emergencies?

Don’t worry! The ban does not apply to medical evacuations, disaster management, or security surveillance. Only regular pilgrim flights are affected

How Will Pilgrims Reach the Shrine?

With this ban, pilgrims must trek 46 km from Pahalgam or 14 km from Baltal to the Amarnath cave. Ponies and palkis are available for those who need assistance.
